Developing sketchbooks with Karen Stamper
OCA students have been busy coming up with ideas for workshops and study events following the increased funding provided by OCASA.
This workshop, over two sessions, will give OCA students the opportunity to develop sketchbook work and is not specific to any course. The workshops will consider ways to record and respond to inspiration, as well as practise using a range of materials, including paint and collage.
In between workshops, students will have the opportunity to develop sketchbook work relevant to their own studies, and bring this back on the second workshop for discussion and further development with the guidance of Karen.
Details of Karen’s work and workshops can be found here, on facebook and on instagram.
Karen’s work is also currently on exhibition at the John Russell Gallery in Ipswich.
The dates are Saturday 25 November and Saturday 3 March and the student’s contribution is £20 for each day – £40 in total. Places are limited so do sign up to this fantastic two day opportunity,
The venue is SEFWI Centre Ipswich.
To reserve your place please email enquiries@oca.ac.uk or alternatively to request a place on a study visit please click here and complete the form. Student’s will be sent a secure link to make payment for the workshop/s on Wednesday 22 November.

What a wonderful idea. I do hope it can transfer over to the SE at some point.
What a great workshop!
It would be good to have a workshop like this developed into a ‘video workshop’ for those of us that live outside of the UK and not able to attend.
Hi Linda I have just made an online course! https://coursecraft.net/courses/z9Tsr
I’m SE aswell. Journey time for me would be around 3 hours so not really do-able. Would love to do the course though so I’m hoping for one down here too.
wonder if this could be done online for students living abroad. Or is that wishful thinking?
This workshop is student organised so absolutely possible in other areas of the country and abroad, have a look at the links in the post to OCASA’s funding pot and if you have any questions contact your rep or myself – joannemulvihill-allen@oca.ac.uk
