We have over 100 tutors, based throughout the UK.
All the Open College of the Arts tutors are practising artists, photographers, designers, writers or composers and are experienced teachers at HE level. Their combination of professional expertise with a strong background in teaching is a key strength of the OCA. You can be confident in your tutor’s ability to help you develop your skills and give you supportive and constructive feedback.
At Foundations and Stages 1 (HE4) & 2 (HE5), tutors are allocated depending on availability. At Stage 3 (HE6), tutor allocation will be agreed in conjunction with the Programme Leader following the outcome of the progression discussion. And finally at postgraduate Stage (HE7), the OCA allocates an appropriate postgraduate tutor to each student at each stage of the programme, and the cohort will all work with a range of other tutors and visiting lecturers throughout their studies.
The tutor profiles are listed by subject below and give you a sense of who our tutors are; their backgrounds and interests.
