Arts & Environment events and e-meets

Arts & Environment themed study events and online meets are continuing to develop with tutors Dan Robinson and Melissa Thompson. In this blog post, Dan shares info and a call out for interest for upcoming visits.
In the next post, he reports on their recent participation in Radmin, a festival in Bristol about art and exchange.
Call out for interested students – events / online Art & Environment programme:
We’re looking for OCA students from any discipline to meet up at a some interesting off-the-beaten-track venues, loosely connected by themes of site, environment, nature, outdoors, microbiome and anthropocene.
The purpose of the visits is to share ideas, creative exercises and methods of creative process across disciplines and to develop peer support networks face-to-face and online. Together we aim to cultivate ideas to take home and nurture.
Between site-based visits, we propose a series of online meetings to open these themes to students who wish to participate remotely.
  • Visit lesser known projects and non-art venues (not the big galleries)
  • Meet other creative people and share ideas across disciplines
  • Think about ecology in relation to creative arts and design
  • Recording experiences and processes (image, sound, text…)
  • Share creative tools
  • Challenge your creative thinking; generate ideas and new ways of working
  • Co-learn with plants, micro-cultures, art & design and science
  • Nurture a peer support culture

This is a pilot program and we are inviting interested students to come forward and help us shape this.
