Study Visit: Rauschenberg

Painting tutors Emma Drye and Bryan Eccleshall will be leading a Study Visit for Level Two and Three students on Saturday 10 December at Tate Modern. It should be a challenging and enjoyable experience for all of us. OCA will be running a second visit to this for Foundation, Level 1 and any students who cannot make the above on the 21 January 2017.

Offcut

The term offcut is often used to describe photographic material that is discarded during the post-production process. Offcuts are unwanted images (print or film) that are shot and then for one reason or another removed from view. It’s an apt title for a new body of work by British based photographer Eva Stenram that both repurposes discarded material and seeks to explore the relationship between photography and pornography and the viewer and the viewed.

A few months ago we blogged about the [(6)] – six alumni photography students who have come together again to create a new body of work. This work shot in Oxford, England and exhibited in Oxford, Canada. To add further interest to an already exciting event the Oxford Riverside Gallery was set up by one of OCA’s MA students Mathew Aldred.

Manchester textiles study visit

On Sunday 13 November OCA tutor and programme leader Rebecca Fairley will host a study visit to two venues in Manchester. In the morning the group will visit The Whitworth then move onto Manchester Art Gallery for the afternoon. The day will be full of gorgeous textiles from stylish mid century fabrics to cutting edge fashion.
