OCA joins The Association of Illustrators
OCA has just joined AOI (The Association of Illustrators), so anyone wishing to dig into AOI website can now do so as a member.
AOI is a not-for-profit trade organisation, dedicated to its members’ professional interests, maintaining industry standards and the promotion of illustration. Established in 1973, the AOI works to increase the standing of illustration as a profession and improve commercial and ethical conditions. It has around 1,500 members, including freelancers, agents, students, colleges and commissioners. AOI supports and educates illustrators at every stage of their career.
What’s in it for OCA students?
On the members section of the website you will find advice, documents, interviews, insights and submission forms for Pricing, Ethics, Rights, Professional Practice, Agents and Publications. It also includes the AOI Pricing Survey. For the appropriate link and password to the member’s section of the website go to the OCA student site where you’ll find more details. Also take a look at the illustrator portfolios on the AOI website, there’s plenty to inspire!
In addition all current students are entitled join the AOI as Affiliate Student Members, receiving all of the benefits of a full membership but at a discounted fee of £50, rather than £96 for a Student Membership or £150 for an Illustrator Membership.
