Study Visit to the new Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield

We are running a study visit to the Hepworth Wakefield Art Museum on Friday 12th July from 10.30am. The study visit takes in the idea of drawing and form looking at the Barbara Hepworth graphic works and sculptures in the collection; also looking at the abstract language of William Scott which will be interesting for drawing, painting and printmaking students as well as sculpture students. We will also look at Post-war British Sculpture and painting and finally at the Contemporary Artist Haroon Mirza who has a new installation that pushes the boundaries of our sense of colour, drawing and installation.
The Hepworth gallery is a stunning piece of architecture in its own right, tailor made for housing the Hepworth collection. It is full of light and great views, well worth a visit. Don’t forget it is on the East Coast North South line, so easy to get to from further north and from London too; so do consider coming even if it isn’t in your neck of the woods. For a place on this not to be missed study visit with contemporary sculptor and OCA tutor Doug Burton, please email enquiries@oca-uk.com as soon as you can.
Sorry it’s our disabled sons weekend home.
I have visited the Hepworth garden in St Ives about a year ago, and found it fascinating, too far to go again at the moment, Ann 511064
