After the challenges of 2020 the Garden Design Department is now steadily growing. We had a successful assessment in July with all students passing with good grades and all continuing on to the next unit. It is really exciting having a range of student experience in the Garden Design Department. We have more students finishing current units now and I’m looking forward to their applications for their unit assessments.

As tutors, I realise we ask you to reflect on your work and your feedback a lot. Thinking back on my own experience, being asked to reflect on my own work was often the last thing I wanted to add to my constantly growing to do list as a student.  However, it quickly became apparent that this idea of reflecting on one’s work is actually something I’d need to do for the rest of my career as a designer.

Please join me to celebrate the achievement of level 3 Painting SYP student Wendy Healey who has just completed her final degree show with us and is soon to graduate.

Wendy’s OCA Artist Talk will comprise of an in-conversation talk with Psychotherapist/ Art Therapist Maureen Begadon, filmed at Wendy’s home studio prior to her degree show on 28 April -14 May at DAA gallery Sutton Coldfield. The film will be followed by a question and answer discussion.
