Study Visit: Henry Moore at YSP
On the 14 March Gerald Deslandes will host a study visit to Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
This major exhibition has been organised in collaboration with The Henry Moore Foundation. It takes a fresh approach to Moore’s sculpture by considering the profound influence of landscape on his work. The setting for the exhibition is itself significant since Moore’s interest in landscape was informed by his childhood in Castleford a few miles from the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
The study day will provide an opportunity to explore the idea of landscape not just in Moore’s practice and visual vocabulary but in the work of contemporaries such as Barbara Hepworth and more recent artists whose work is exhibited at the park.
