Virtual Study Event: Keeping Up Momentum – Student Stories

In need of a creative kick-start? The next Keeping up Momentum Zoom session will take place on Saturday, Feb 27th at 10 am GMT and will feature three students stories to inspire and motivate you. 

Our fabulous speakers will be: 

Jane Coxhill

Jane joined OCA many years ago when she “semi-retired” and began part-time work.  Her three children had fled the nest so she was able to concentrate on her dream to learn more about painting and art. Having finished her education after A levels and missing an opportunity to attend Bournemouth Art School, she began the course of study.  Now, fully retired, Jane has just achieved her goal – a first-class honours degree in painting. http://janecoxhillartist.com/

Hugh Hadfield

Hugh is a London based illustrator with a practice rooted in observational drawing and an interest in reportage, documentary and “the slightly strange”. Having started his OCA studies in November 2016, he has just submitted Visual Exploration (his final Level 2 unit), for the March assessment and is now embarking on level three. https://hughhadfield.com/

Sarah-Jane Field

Sarah-Jane usually works as a photographer but feels very fortunate to have been employed part-time by a local housing co-op, writing blogs and attempting to do some bookkeeping, since the pandemic began. She is mother to three boys aged 16, 12 and 8 and has been studying with the OCA since 2014. She was over the moon to have received marks of 90% for her last three modules; for Digital Image and Culture in 2019, and for Body of Work and Contextual Studies in December 2020. https://sjfsyp.wordpress.com/

This Zoom event is free to attend and open to everyone – all disciplines and all courses, at any level. It will last approximately two hours and there will be time for questions. 

Keeping up Momentum is a student-led initiative designed to connect, inspire and motivate OCA students. Everyone is very welcome.
