OCA East of England study event: Investigating Place

For this study event, Clare Wilson will be discussing ways of interpreting landscape, and how the experience of making relates to the place itself and to memory.  We will be exploring how we can investigate abstractions of the landscape – making work that suggests a place visited, experienced or re-imagined.

Clare will introduce her work and her own response to landscape – and how this relates to the painting process itself. She will discuss some of her experiences as artist in residence in Wales and Ireland and how different places have generated ideas and informed her practice. She will also refer to other artists working primarily with paint as a way of communicating ideas about place.

The study event will take place on Saturday, 31 July 2021 between 13.00 and 15.30 via Zoom.  As usual we will have the opportunity to share work after the break.  Looking forward to seeing you all there. Please note places are limited to 25. Register here – https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/oca-east-of-england-event-investigating-place-tickets-161621699855
