Thank you, Duckrabbit

Last year Duckrabbit did some training for OCA staff on producing photo slideshows and since that time I have been an avid reader of their blog. I missed this slideshow when it appeared on the Guardian website, but find it beautiful and searingly moving. The final thirty seconds are both joyful and technically superb, presumably captured using a fast shutter burst and timing the photographs so they appear like every fifth image from a movie.
The growing importance of photo slideshows as a way of displaying work means that they will feature in the re-write of the OCA’s level 2 digital course which is currently underway.

Thanks for the re-post! The kids from the brass band will be honored by all the attention. French and Dutch version of this photofilm can be found at photofilm.eu.
that was absolutely brilliant, thanks Gareth.
Music therapy, you get a real sense of healing from this – nice to see a relatively happy ending for these kids. Really nicely put together too, food for thought for us all.
Fascinating. Both beautiful and terrible at the same time. As Penny says, the healing qualities of their art come across very strongly from this.
Wonderful work and such moving stories. I’ve looked at more on their site and they really bring home the tragedy of wars and their effect on children.
