OCA Painting: Showcase

We are pleased to share a showcase of work from the BA (Hons) Painting at Open College of the Arts, curated by their Programme Leader, Emma Drye from work submitted at the completion of their course units. The ambition and energy of the department is well evidenced by the amazing work produced by its community – from first years right through to graduates. Well done to everyone who completed a unit on the OCA BA (Hons) Painting degree in 2025!

Extraordinary diversity and quality. If it were possible to circulate this to curators, I’m sure some of these works would be shown more widely in group shows.

  I certainly think we could do more to share the exhibiting being done independently by students in painting and in drawing. I do use things like this when reaching out to network colleagues so I will keep that in mind. I should also say that we have several great curators in the staff teams at OCA so I absolutely encourage any of you to reach out to some of these great artists!
