Virtual study event: Masterclass with composer Laura Rossi

On Saturday 4 July, acclaimed composer Laura Rossi (http://www.laurarossi.com) will be holding an online masterclass exclusively for OCA students on composing for the screen. This is an exciting opportunity to speak to a professional composer and get an insight into the film music industry. The schedule for the day is as follows:

Introduction
10.30am – 11.30am
– Introduction from Laura, including how she started out her career
– The process of writing film music, from script to screen
Q&A Session 1
11.30am – 12pm
Lunch
12pm – 1pm
Inside the Score
1pm – 2pm
Laura will talk in more detail about the workflow with Logic and Sibelius, recording sessions and working with a director.
Q&A Session 2 and Wrap up
2pm – 2.30pm
Final chance for Q&A, and discussion on the skills needed to become a successful film composer as well as the different types of composing jobs.

This event is of most relevance for music students, particularly those considering a career in composing for the screen, but all OCA students from across disciplines are welcome to attend. To register, please complete the booking form here.
