Study Visit: Eric Ravilious
Join Jim on the 11 July at the Dulwich Picture Gallery in London. This is an opportunity to see a retrospective of the watercolours of the English artist Eric Ravilious (1903-42) and will be of interest to students wanting to improve their drawing, painting and design skills, and also Art Historians eager to learn about the place of figurative art in England in the 20th century.
Jim will give an introduction to the artist, outline Ravilious’ career and place his work alongside those of his contemporaries. He will highlight paintings of interest that relate to OCA course work, and students will have the opportunity to draw from and discuss the works and their relevance today.
The afternoon session will continue with students looking at and drawing from works in the permanent collection.
