Is your house on fire, Clark?

No, Aunt Bethany, those are the Christmas lights.

With 12 sleeps to go until Christmas Day, decorated houses that Clark Griswold would be proud of are beginning to light up the streets near you like Blackpool illuminations and the inevitable barrage of festive films begin eating into the last 15% of your Sky planner storage (why does nobody delete anything!). So, it’s very easy to start thinking of the impending chaos that is the festive period. What you may not be thinking about is studying an MA in Fine Art from your own home or that this is even a possibility.
Whether you’re a current student coming to the end of your studies, or are an art practitioner looking to gain a postgraduate qualification, then our award winning MA Fine Art degree programme may be the Christmas gift that Santa nearly forgot.
If you’ve seen our earlier advent post on the BA Fine Art you’ll have an idea of what Fine Art is all about. The MA is just the same, but turning it up to 11 (no spontaneously combusting drummers thankfully).
Our MA runs as a cohort, with students from all over the world dialling in to work together. Fancy spending the evening in Dubai, Shanghai, and New York? You can on the MA, not literally of course, that’d be excessive.
As well as a great team of tutors who will lead you through the course week in week out, you’ll also get to speak to and learn from Fine Art experts the world over.
So essentially, the MA is the Fine Art equivalent of Come Dine With Me, but better behaved, and much nicer. No food (well maybe). Sorry.
If Bake-off is more your thing, the MA culminates in a showstopper, where the cohort put together an exhibition from start to finish to share their work with the world.
If inviting a dozen other practising artists into your home for discussion (in a virtual sense, that is) sounds like your cup of tea – we are in Yorkshire after all – then why not take a look at the MA prospectus, and email enquiries@oca.ac.uk if you have any queries or would like to apply to join next years intake!
This has been our fourteenth day of #accessoca, join us again tomorrow.
