Can graphic design save your life?

Join OCA tutor Russell Squires on the 2 December at the Wellcome Collection in London.
From medicine boxes to international health campaigns; this colourful and multimedia exhibition will guide you through the design considerations that have gone into the world of healthcare. The exhibition is sectioned, covering: Persuasion, Education, Hospitalisation, Medication, Contagion and Provocation. With typography, illustration, infographics, Photography and other mixed media pieces, there will be plenty to see and explore.

Illustrator Dick Bruna was best known for creating Miffy; he also donated his design services to charities such as the Haemophilia Society and the Red Cross.
Smoking is Slow Motion Suicide poster, 1972, Biman Mullick, Cleanair
In 1972, Indian designer and educator Biman Mullick founded the anti-smoking organisation Cleanair, and has been designing materials for this campaign ever since.

  • This will be a great study visit, which could appeal to not only Graphic Designers, but Photography, Creative Arts Today and typically Vis Comms studetns. Also the Welcome Collection is wonderful venue, with plenty to see and possibly some cake!
