Artes Mundi

This November OCA are hosting an intensive two day study visit to Artes Mundi 6, international art prize and exhibitions. Held over three venues across Cardiff, AM6 showcases the work of nine shortlisted artists working in a wide range of media from photography and film to sculpture and performance.
Dates: Friday 14 & Saturday 15 November 2014
We’ve arranged a full itinerary of guided tours and discussion around all the exhibitions with plenty of free time to continue the debate, write up learning log notes and to socialise with fellow students.
Founded in 2002 by Welsh artist William Wilkins, Artes Mundi (Latin for ‘arts of the world’) is best known for its biennial international Exhibition and Prize. One of the shortlisted artists is awarded £40,000, the largest art prize in the UK and one of the most significant in the world.
Artes Mundi identifies, recognises and supports contemporary visual artists who engage with the human condition, social reality and lived experience. Expect to see an eclectic selection of challenging and inspiring work that apply a wide variety of techniques to deal with often complex social, economic and emotional concerns.
Find out more about the shortlisted artists here.
Registration is from 10.45 on Friday 14 November at National Museum Cardiff with the first tour taking place there at 11.15am.
Places on this visit are free but limited, for more information and to book your place contact enquiries@oca-uk.com
