Are you ready to become a spatial dreamer?

If my house could talk, I’m sure it would say I was a spatial dreamer. None of those dreams have made it to reality yet – nor are they likely to – but my Pinterest board is overflowing as much as the creatively placed pile of ironing I should have been doing instead.
If you think interior design is just about choosing fabrics and collecting colour charts, think again. The newest degree to join our expanding range of courses, the Interior Design degree is not an architecture course, nor is it ‘cushions and curtains’ – it sits somewhere between the two.
When you walk into somewhere new, you’ll usually get a ‘feeling’. As soon as I walk into a spa (not often enough!) I feel a sense of calm, a soothing feeling, and it makes me slow down. This is no accident; someone has carefully shaped and crafted this experience with that outcome in mind.
Through creative problem solving you will develop your own individual design identity, learn to use design software. We’re getting quite good at this at OCA, with interviews now featuring brain teasers and puzzles; we’re not mean, promise!
If you’re not quite ready to jump in feet first with the degree, we also have a Foundations in Interior Design so if it’s something you’ve had an interest in or feel you’d be good at, why not give it a whirl?
This has been day twenty-two of #accessoca, join us again tomorrow.
