Poetry workshop coming up in Cambridge
OCA will be in Cambridge for a Poetry Workshop on November 19th. Tutor John Drew will be leading and this will be held from 10.30 to 4.30 in Darwin College, a friendly and picturesque small graduate college on the banks of the Cam just west of the city centre.
All activities will be centred on particular poets associated with Cambridge. No prior expertise is needed but all taking part should be prepared to participate in such diverse activities as acting the role of an animal, unscrambling a sonnet and confronting some Chinese characters.
Discussion points are likely to centre on such questions as: Can poetry be happy? Is there a place for the sonnet in the 21st century? Why might poets fail in school? Does poetry have to be lost in translation?
Coffee, light lunch and tea will be served in the college. Cost of the day is £30 per head. Places are limited. Please book your place by emailing enquiries@oca-uk.com
Great, just what I need, something to get the juices flowing, writing can be a lonely activity.
hmm, sounds intriguing
