OCA Creative Writing tutor Liz Cashdan was in the office a few weeks ago. and we took the opportunity to record her reading two of her poems. Of particular interest is that Liz traveled to Iceland Last year with another OCA Tutor, Pat Hodson whose Herbal Notebook was featured on WeAreOCA a couple of months ago. In addition to reading the poems Liz describes the relationship between the work and Pat’s capturing of the visual aspects of their study trip. For students who want to know more about their working practices I’d recommend visiting the website www.artinthefreezer.co.uk which they maintained together with sound artist Jessica Rowland. It makes for fascinating reading. Alternatively you can just watch one of the finished pieces here

  • presentation is wonderful, with mysterious and vague sounds and voices. Fascinating! But what a pity? the writer ,the main voice over of supposed poetry is simplistic and limited…..nothing special; Something my auntie comes up with at the community centre before bingo.
