Big Draw 2016

As part of the Campaign for Drawing OCA has registered to take part in the Big Draw again this year. The 2016 theme is The STEAM Powered Big Draw Festival.

Bringing together Science, Technology, Art, Engineering and Maths. STEAM recalls our Industrial past and the fusion of creative innovation, enterprise and the arts.

With this in mind look at the above quote and create a piece of work in response to it. It can be a drawing, illustration, painting, photograph, film, textile piece or even a piece of writing or music. It is entirely up to you.

The Big draw takes place over the month of October, get your submissions to us by the 31 of that month. We will create a digital display of all the work after the deadline date. Email coursesupport@oca.ac.uk with your entry.

As well as the above project we are running some official Big Draw study visits.

9 October: Whitechapel Gallery, London: William Kentridge – Clare Wilson

15 October: Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Sketchcrawl – Joanne & Leanne

22 October: Jim’s Studio Workshop, Grantham – Jim Unsworth

5 November: Jerwood Drawing Prize, Bath – Polly Harvey

Students can sign up for any visit regardless of discipline. Places will be limited but it is possible to sign up for more than one event. We will add more details for each visit as and when we get them.

Students will need to dress appropriately for the October weather if the event is outdoors, if conditions are too bad to work in we will have backup plans.

To reserve your place please email enquiries@oca.ac.uk or alternatively to request a place on a study visit please click here and complete the form.

For study events that require a ticket, there is a non refundable fee of £10 to pay and your confirmation email will instruct you on how to do this.
