This study visit to see Peter Doig’s work will be on Thursday 10th October 2013 at the Scottish National Gallery, Edinburgh. This exhibition focusses on paintings done in the last ten years. Living in Trinidad, Doig uses serial motifs and recurring imagery in a direct reaction to his surroundings. His colourful works also link to twentieth century European painting, in particular Matisse, Bonnard and Bacon. The visit will be hosted by Emma Drye and Olivia irvine. This exhibition is a must for painters. It is well worth travelling to.
What a shame this Study Visit wasn’t planned/advertised sooner … I have booked to see this show on 07 Oct. I will just be in Edinburgh for the day, then fly back to France on 08 Oct. I would have loved to have met Emma, Olivia and some fellow students.
