Jim Mortram’s work Small Town Inertia provokes strong reactions. When I first saw it, I immediately thought of Don McCullin’s images of Bradford from the ninety seventies; but this is not the North and not comfortably in the past and easy categorisations are immediately misleading.
On Saturday 2 February the OCA returns to Bank Street Arts in Sheffield for a study visit to this exhibition of Jim’s work. The visit promises to be fascinating as it will be hosted by the the gallery’s curator of photography and OCA tutor Andrew Conroy. The study visit will start at 11am and will last about two hours. Places are free but are strictly limited. To book your place please email enquiries@oca-uk.com
