Partnership is a good thing, but …
This is a post from the weareoca.com archive. Information contained within it may now be out of date.
This is a slightly unusual post, but we feel the need to alert potential OCA students.
The OCA is an educational charity. Our purpose is to widen access to arts education and the principal way we do this is through setting the lowest fees possible. We are validated by the University for the Creative Arts. This is our only partnership with another educational institution.
We do not work with other institutions to provide additional tuition or study facilities. In the last two weeks we have become aware of two organisations claiming to offer our courses and charging large sums to enrol students. These organisations have no relationship with the OCA. We have taken action to prevent this practice.
The only ways to enrol with the OCA are set out on our website www.oca-uk.com .
If any student or WeAreOCA reader becomes aware of another organisation claiming to offer our courses, we would be grateful if you could email us enquiries@oca-uk.com
That is very worrying. I hope you manage to stop them.
I am confident that we have stopped these two organisations, Eileen, but others may be tempted to try if they think that they can add a margin to our fees and make money. Hence the post.
You must be quite flattered – in a way!
My over-riding reaction is outrage. That some people have no compunction about taking thousands of pounds for a course which can be had from us for about £800.
