It seems such a simple view yet the mood in each one is so different. Very beguiling.
Beguiling is a good word for this Catherine. I think it works very well. Ideally I would have liked to see more of the presentation: it’s so helpful to see how others approach this task.
Although it clearly shows the four seasons, what I find interesting is the juxtaposition of developed urban environment and more rural. The former is evidenced by the small piece of road on the right hand side and the bridge in the distance more centrally. The latter is not visible in all images due to the weather making one look harder.
Really interesting for me to see how this has been done.
What I find interesting is the view being simple as landscape is my next option and I was worried about finding a landscape close to home to be able to take it through the seasons. The images have given me some ideas – well done.
IMHO Not just beautiful images but laden (intentional or otherwise) with intrigue and symbolism too: The gate is always shut; access, right to roam, enclosure? The fence reinforced on each side; livestock herding, security, safety from barbed wire? The lonely copse of trees; a last remnant of woodland in a ‘managed environment’ or have they grown out of a hedgerow? left to grow wild now that coppicing and charcoal burning have declined? Urban sprawl encroaching on landscape obscured by weather. Such a deceptively simple view …most of the best ones are.
