Job title: Learning Technologist
Salary: £18,199 to £23,053 (pro rata)
1.0 FTE (36.5 hours per week)
Duration of Contract: Permanent, following 6 month probation period

The Learning Technologist role sits within the college’s Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) team, and is responsible for the design and development of the college’s learning resources and interactive activities, in collaboration with academic staff and other team members. The role-holder will be responsible for the planning, design, creation, editing, maintenance and publication of various learning activities, resources and educational tools for use by students, tutors and staff. An ability to move easily between technologies and platforms to create an optimum learning experience is essential to this role, with various software and service types being employed to meet the diverse needs of the college’s range of creative course programmes.
The role-holder will be required to provide front-line technical support for college stakeholders, which includes the production of assistive content dealing with repeated support requirements and providing authoritative advice on learning tools and VLE environments to course authors, tutors and other staff.
The role will play a key part in ensuring the college meets the developing needs of its increasingly diverse student population, and as such, will work in both small and large-scale projects aimed at meeting the complex needs of the geographically dispersed distance learning creative arts student.
