Vacancy: Interior Design Programme Leader

By January 24, 2019Vacancies

Job title: Programme Leader for Interior Design

Part time, permanent (0.2 with opportunity for additional funded activity)

Closing date for applications: Friday 15th February 2019

The Open College of the Arts (OCA) is seeking to recruit a Programme Leader with the expertise and experience to develop and manage our Interior Design programme. The post holder will lead a new and innovative BA (Hons) in Interior Design and an Open Foundation. Both courses are in their year of presentation, and are delivered through distance and online learning.
As well as equipping students with the skills to become professional interior designers and/or extend their current professional practice, the degree will enable students to form creative links with architecture, garden design and digital technologies and foster their creative and critical thinking around how spaces are produced. It is designed to foster ambition and creativity so that students can become spatial dreamers, architectural investigators and playful innovators of interiors. The current Interior Design programme specification is available here: https://www.oca.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Interior_Design_BA_OCA_PSpec_201819.pdf
OCA’s Open Foundations courses are designed for students who want to develop their skills and understanding before embarking on degree level study, but they can also be studied as interesting courses in their own right.
The role can be fulfilled at a distance from OCA Head Office (i.e. home based) but will require regular attendance at meetings and events in Barnsley, with some attendance in Farnham and London.
