OCA are committed to the idea of lifelong learning. We recognise that learning doesn’t simply begin at four or five and stop when you get to 21, it’s something that you continue to do throughout a lifetime.
In fact, OCA was originally set up to provide personal development in the arts. The courses we offer have changed over the years, but personal development remains at the heart of what we do.
If you are interested in the arts and want to learn something new or embrace a creative challenge, but don’t wish to study for a qualification, we can help.
You can choose from a range of courses, some of which have been developed for our undergraduate programmes, and others are specially commissioned short courses. Study at a pace that suits you, with room to choose courses from any subject area.
As a learner you’ll be allocated an OCA tutor, an experienced practitioner in their own right, to support you through the course, answer queries, and give you insightful and critical feedback. There is no formal assessment element, so you can use your feedback to help develop your ongoing practice and learning.
You can choose from our selection of units for personal learning so you can study what interests you most, or build up a portfolio selecting units from different areas to enhance your knowledge and skills.
OCA’s personal development offer is designed to be flexible, supportive, and an enjoyable creative challenge. Take a look at what you can study with us, and enrol today.
