If you are currently enrolled with The Open University (OU) on an undergraduate course and wish to pursue a creative degree with Open College of the Arts (OCA), you will need to withdraw from your current OU course and apply to OCA as a new student. Because OCA and OU courses operate independently, direct transfers between the two institutions are not possible.
Speak to an adviser at the OU before withdrawing to discuss your options and ensure you are aware of any withdrawal implications. ,
If you would like your previous OU credits to count toward an OCA degree, you must apply for credit transfer through our Recognition of Prior Certified Learning (RPCL) process. Please be aware that your OU credits must relate to the OCA course you are applying to. For example, you cannot transfer credits from a business course to a painting course. Alternatively, you can apply for experiential credit exemption, which is based on your experience within a creative industry or an intensive hobby.
