I am a book designer, graphic designer and artist based in London.
My freelance work includes books, exhibition designs, publicity materials and private commissions. I work for several publishers, galleries and organisations with projects in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and France. In the past I have worked in both creative design studios and as a freelance designer. The work I do is mainly in the arts and culture sector.
I am passionate about art and book design, experimenting with typography, searching for new and exciting approaches to design and communication. In my arts practice I try to challenge myself and am curious to use both traditional and modern techniques.
In addition to my freelance work, I design and publish limited edition artists’ books and pursue my artistic and typographic research. I am fascinated by concrete poetry and I have a strong interest in the relationship between image, typography, form and the content of a book in relation to contemporary art. Throughout my work, I strive to create depth and curiosities for my audiences.
I have been part of several exhibitions such as London Kaleid 2012 and the Small Publishers Fair.
My artwork can be found in the special library collection at the UWE Bristol School of Creative Arts, and other works can be seen in the special library collection of Tate Britain and the British Library.
I completed my MA in Visual Arts, Book Arts at Camberwell College of Arts London in 2009. Previous to this I completed two studies in the Netherlands; a BA (Hons) Graphic Design from Academy of Art Minerva Groningen (2007) and an MBO in Graphic Design, Advertisement and Publishing Design from Cibap Zwolle (2004). I have delivered several classes and workshops in both conceptual and practical techniques.
I am delighted to be teaching for the OCA to share my experience and knowledge and to encourage and guide students to develop their work and their own visual language. I’m keen to expose students to different approaches and new possibilities.
