I began studying with the OCA in 2009. I chose the OCA because of the flexibility – being able to study when I wanted is essential. Communication with peers– through group projects and discussion forums makes me feel part of a global network. My practice has developed from a casual but regular interest in photography to a theoretically grounded, socially aware art practice. I am holding my first solo exhibition this August and had work accepted at two galleries. I recently won the Don Dunstan Foundation Arts prize, which I would never have imagined prior to commencing study with the OCA.
