Sandra Flower

I am a practising artist based near Colchester in Essex.

My background is in Fine Art Textiles and I graduated with an MA from Goldsmiths College, London in 2005. My work is often site-specific, but I also exhibit in gallery spaces too, and I work primarily with textiles and photography.

In October 2006 I took part in “Residue’, a programme of artist’s residencies at Firstsite, in Colchester, Essex. I was also commissioned by Commissions East to produce a site-specific piece for the Foundling Museum, London in 2007. In 2006 I was a recipient of Escalator Visual Arts, an Arts Council England East, and Commissions East professional development scheme, and I received a major grant for the arts award to develop a body of new work in 2009.

I currently teach fashion and textiles to foundation students at Colchester School of Art, and have worked for many years as a distance learning tutor.
