Photographically I have a very eclectic style and approach and I will utilise any camera format albeit analogue or digital to accomplish my aims and objectives.
I’m a multi faceted artist who primarily uses photography within a fine art and conceptual based context; a child of the 80s I’m based in Portsmouth along the south coast of England and I love all aspects of photography.
Since obtaining a BA (Hons) in Photography at the University Of Portsmouth I gained employment both in the FE & HE educational sectors. I have taught at various levels and age groups from 14-16 year olds at summer schools to evening adult education classes. The courses I have taught have been both practical and theoretical from non-certificated workshops to the tuition and guidance of level-three photography degree students and post graduate visual artists.
To further inform my practice and educational profile I achieved a Masters Degree ‘MA’ from the University Of Brighton in editorial based photography. My main focus was the exploration of scenes of crime and how the environment could shape and influence the reading of these violent discourses within original large format Polaroids that were exposed/processed and buried at the various locations.
Photographically I have a very eclectic style and approach and I will utilise any camera format albeit analogue or digital to accomplish my aims and objectives. I have specialised in and taught traditional methods including cyanotype printing, pinhole photography and Polaroid creative manipulation techniques. I have a selection of my images held by Dimbola Lodge, Polaroid & Hampshire NHS Trust.
Currently I work part time for the University of Portsmouth as a technical lecturer and support technician. My current practice is concerned with the very construct and formation of photography and its dissemination into popular culture.
Aside from photography I have a keen passion in typography, printing forms and graphic design. I’m a confessed geek and sci-fi fanatic that loves technology and its influence within the arts.
