I see teaching as a privilege – the opportunity to engage with another person’s creativity, share the journey of discovery and self-improvement. Research is vital for a visual communicator. Contexts are key and visual and literary histories provide integrity in that it feeds our imagination, and support the articulation of the professional maker.

My experience of teaching students from a variety of cultural backgrounds has enhanced many aspects of my life and my knowledge and understanding – this has made me a better communicator. I am now a part-time academic and practicing artist /designer.

I have many interests – for example, I am keen on travel as people, language, mode of travel, culture and landscape inspire me, where possible on my motorbike. I am an enthusiastic cook, and like to keep fit.

In essence I am a magpie and collect experiences, which in turn feeds my visual works.
