Many of my poems are about the countryside, coastal areas and animals. Over the years I have had poems published in newspapers, magazines and anthologies and also placed in competitions. In the early 2000s I studied for the Creative Writing MA from University College, Chichester, where I submitted poetry for her dissertation and both prose and poetry for the assignments. Doing this course caused me to look critically at creative writing and helped me to be able to give constructive criticism on a variety of genres.
I am very experienced, both as a teacher and a writer, having taught Creative Writing at Adult Education classes and English to Foreign Students for many years. I work part time for the OCA and am now Director of Studies/ Academic Manager for an English school based in West Sussex. As well as the BA in English I have the PGCE in Post Compulsory Education and the Diploma in TESOL from Brighton University. I have the HND in Audio Media and during this course I studied writing for radio both for documentaries and radio drama. I did this course for interest and alongside this I worked as a presenter for a local hospital radio station for two years.
‘The Moon the Waves and the Breeze’, my first collection of poems, is available from Leaf Books, see their website. The more recently published ‘The Day Is White’, won the Indigo Dreams Summer Collection Competition 2009. Please contact me if you would like to purchase a copy or else use Amazon on which both books are listed.
