I began studying with the OCA in 2011, and as I already had a photography qualification, used the APCL process to bypass the first level of study. The OCA offered flexibility, enabling me to study at convenient times around full time work. My aim was to increase my understanding of contemporary photography and creative practices beyond technical ability, which the modules on the degree pathway helped me to achieve. As my practice has developed I have found myself finding more questions to ask and subsequently answer through self-directed work; key skills as an autonomous creative practitioner.
