Rob Elford - The Open College of the Arts

Rob Elford

My work focuses on the interaction of immersion, animation, and play, specifically examining the differing communications between able-bodied, neurodivergent, and queer individuals. Within my practice, I create immersive experiences, video games, and animations across various mediums.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from London Metropolitan University, where I was taught by Bob and Roberta Smith. During my studies, I developed a series of animations and a video game that received an honourable mention from The Independent Games Festival (IGF).

I am currently pursuing a Doctorate, exploring the use of interactive animation to convey neuroqueer stories and to help communicate divergent experiences to neurotypical audiences. I have previously exhibited my work at the National Centre for Craft and Design, MOMA Korea, and Somerset House.
