I am an artist making work which transforms the way in which people experience their immediate surroundings. Following an MA at the Royal College of Art I developed a portfolio of interactive installations which explore the relationship between people and place. My company, M+R, explores social structures and how the integration of art acts as a positive force to strengthen community.
My projects span many continents and have included a 28 storey high woven chandelier, illuminating garments, light and sound installations, architectural artwork, airport interiors and mountain top beacons. Inspiration is primarily found in the geometry of renaissance painting, woven structures and a direct connection to the architecture and heritage of the space in which the work is sited.
Working with students is very important to me and I am a regular lecturer and curator at the Royal College of Art and external examiner for various colleges.
