Working across painting, drawing, printmaking and ceramics, my practice is dedicated to experimenting with materials and processes to explore drawing and its expanded field. I am interested in history, art history, biography, the fallibility of memory and the slippage of time.
I studied at the University of Brighton and the Royal College of Art. My work has been included in group shows across the UK and Europe and I have had a number of solo exhibitions in the UK, including Outpost, Norwich (2017) Pump House Gallery, London (2018) and Zona Mista, London (2021). I have recently had a monograph of over 220 works on paper published by Landfill Editions. Titled FULL GAS, the book launched at Printed Matter New York’s Art Book Fair in February 2021. I have undertaken a number of residencies across Europe, including a year spent as a Guest of Amy Sillman and Monika Baer in the Painting department of the Städelschule, Germany. I am a current recipient of ACME’s prestigious Fire Station five-year live/work residency in London.
Since 2015 I have worked as a lecturer, tutor and visiting artist at institutions including Kingston University, the University of Brighton and most recently Falmouth School of Art. I have taught across Foundation, BA and MA. I am passionate about the exchange of ideas and experience and the sharing of knowledge and skills to unpick new approaches to materials and ways of thinking about making.
