British Flute Society

If you’re wanting to explore music as a new subject, enhance your existing talent or achieve a degree qualification, the Open College of the Arts (OCA) is the perfect opportunity for you to unlock your potential.

The OCA is a not-for-profit charity, who’s purpose is to provide creative opportunities for everyone, no matter what your background.

We provide distance-learning creative degrees and courses, giving you the ability to work in a place that suits you with flexible study timeframes. Take up to 3 times as long to complete your degree than if you were at a traditional university. Plus you don’t need any prior education or qualifications to join.

OCA is one of the most affordable ways to gain a creative degree on the market today, and as a student of the OCA, you’ll have access to a dedicated specialist tutor (or musician) to support you along your journey.

Having partnered with the UK’s top Creative Arts Universities – the University for the Creative Arts (UCA),  you’ll have access to a pool of resources like no other, from music-recording study visit trips to grand libraries.

We have had a long standing relationship with the British Flute Society (BFS) and many of our students found us through there. As a celebration of this, we offer all BFS members a £50 discount on any OCA course. Simply type your BFS member number in the Additional Comments box at the checkout.

If you have an interest in Music, take a look at our Open Foundations Music course or our BA (Hons) Music degree, if you are wanting to expand your horizons, feel free to look around at some of our other creative courses – the offer applies to any OCA course!
