We are pleased to announce a new addition to our foundations suite of courses – Foundations Creative Writing.
The Foundation Creative Writing course is designed to inspire and encourage new students to practise independent writing. The course is suitable for students who are unsure whether they are ready to engage in degree level study and for those who wish to study a single stand-alone course to develop their skills and understanding.
You will start writing immediately, drawing from personal experience and, with feedback from your tutor, you can expect to make rapid progress. On completion of the five parts of the course you should have gained sufficient skills and enough confidence to go on to further study with the Open College of the Arts or elsewhere, and be able to decide on the nature and direction of your future studies or writing practice. You will have an understanding the writing process, comprehension of the terms ‘genre and form,’ understanding the practice and use of creation and imagination.

  • I do hope writers enjoy this course. It was written with both enjoyment and advancement at the forefront of the process, and I believe it links well with the level one courses a student might start after finishing this. I also think it would be a great one-off course for anyone who is hoping to write creatively…or kick-start their wriiting after being in the ‘doldrums’ for any time.
