Artificial Intelligence Use
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has already had a broad impact across many sectors and its adoption is increasing in all levels of education provision. Generative AI, which can create new content such as text, code, images, audio, video and 3D objects, is rapidly evolving and widely available. Informed by these capabilities, OCA recognises that AI technology offers numerous opportunities for enhancing and supporting teaching, learning, and administrative processes at OCA whilst also presenting risks and challenges in relation to academic integrity, ethical application, and socio-environmental impact.
The Artificial Intelligence Use policy covers the college’s approach to using AI by its staff and students, the college’s approach to risk and vendor management in relation to the adoption of AI tools for use by the college and its stakeholders, when AI may and may not be used by its staff and students, and the outcomes of misuse.
