Working across many disciplines using drawing, collage, sound, performance and film I
navigate both the digital and the analogue in a bid to capture both real and imagined
dialogues across space and entangled time frames.
My research interests concentrate on the Occult and occult practices with a particular focus
on female otherness within mediumistic practice, identities and locations. My recent focus
has been to centre on experienced and altered realities through performative language and
embodiment, specifically through historical radical technologies and theories of the weird. I
am interested in invisible forces, of things such as reality, space and time continuum. I am
curious about black holes and the cosmos and you will see references to this materialise in
my work. As well as being interested in the elusive dark matter that fills the universe, I am
interested in the notion of invisible presence, the space between the physical and the
virtual, sound and movement, simulation, projection, channelling, transcendence, catharsis,
waves, trance, counterculture, repeated rhythms and ritualistic dance and movement. At
the centre of my practice is a core interest in the perpetual state of transformation and that
of escape away from the real.
I studied at The University of London, Goldsmiths College and The University of Essex and
have been in many group shows across the UK and the rest of the world from time to time
and have been fortunate enough to have had a number of solo shows in the UK including
exhibitions in historic houses and at The Minories Gallery in Essex. Performances have taken
place for the British Psychological Society in Senate House, London and Test Space, Spike
Island in Bristol and Home in Manchester.
I am both a lecturer and tutor in various other institutions such as London College of
Communication and Ravensbourne University as well as the OCA, where I am a Programme
Tutor for the MA Fine Art programme. I am also the curator for Confer – Karnac Art Space in
Strype Street, London where I have organised a series of exhibitions that deal with bridging
the visual arts with psychoanalytical thinking.
