Our Tutors

You can be confident in your OCA tutor’s ability to help you develop your skills and give you supportive and constructive feedback.

We have around 100 tutors, based throughout the UK. All the Open College of the Arts tutors are practising artists, photographers, designers, writers or composers and are experienced teachers at HE level. Their combination of professional expertise with a strong background in teaching is a key strength of the OCA. You can be confident in your tutor’s ability to help you develop your skills and give you supportive and constructive feedback.

At Levels 1 (HE4) & 2 (HE5) tutors are allocated depending on availability. For your major project at Level 3 (HE6) you are encouraged to review the profiles of the listed tutors, and select the one whose work and expertise most closely matches your own interests and ambitions.

The tutor profiles are listed by subject below and give you a sense of who our tutors are; their backgrounds and interests.
